| First of all I'd like to apologize if my first post sounded juvinile and irresponsible- my thought at leaving the cops was only because their wave was unofficial and I thought I could mount an argument for not having significant notice to be pulled over. Second of all, the speed trap I was speaking of was not a technical term, I did not realize there were even stipulations for a "speed trap," rather that it was a conversational term and that 6 plus LE vehicles patrolling a half mile stretch of highway constituted, in my book, excess. Third of all speeding is a criminal case- maybe not a felony but it is criminal so I'm not sure what you were talking about where habeus corpus or whatever only applies to criminal cases. Would speeding be civil? Lastly, Nytwolf I respect your experience and your opinion but I think I was misunderstood. I am not picking on you but would rather like to clarify my original post. Thank all of yall for your input and any continued advice- I mainly felt that I am not a threat to society on the road and that I should not be further inconvenienced by the court for their mistakes. (by they way I asked to get it dismissed, they just scanned my DL to show I appeared). Where I try to defend myself and my 2 cents: I know a few of us ride motorcycles and I feel as though there is a different mindset on a bike that some might not understand. I prefer to ride slightly faster than traffic as a means to avoid being bunched in between groups of cars that would kill me during an accident rather than simply damage my car. In certain situations I try to use my best judgement but certain times I exceed the speed limit to minimize time in the left lane, as I'm sure most do in their cars. Anyway I'm not asking anyone to agree with me but maybe someone will understand where I'm coming from. Thanks!
